Potlatch Corp. has named Gerald Zuehlke as its new chief financial officer. Former CFO Sandra Powell took early retirement in January after spending 33 years with the company. Michael DeGenring, who replaced her, announced his plans to leave the company in early June. Zuehlke joined Potlatch as an accounting trainee in 1972. He has held the post of treasurer since 1994.
Despite weak timber prices, about 340 workers at Potlatch Corp.’s Lewiston lumber mill who were temporarily laid off in May will head back to work Monday as scheduled.
The Nike corporate Web site was taken over by hackers for a short time Wednesday. Content was replaced with a message about the “inequality” of the global economy. A Web page posted by a group calling itself “s11” appeared when the www.nike.com address was requested. The page says that “global justice is coming - prepare now,” and calls for action at the World Economic Forum 2000 on Sept. 11-13 in Melbourne, Australia.
