Children’S Summer Art Classes Planned

Spokane Art Supply Too is offering a series of summer art camps for kids starting Monday.

Class sessions for ages 9 to 14 include Australian Adventure in Art, Monday through Thursday; Art on an African Safari, July 17-20; Reflections of the Rain Forest, July 31-Aug. 3; and An Artist on Tour, Aug. 14-17. All classes are from 1 to 4 p.m. and cost $45. Preregistration is required; call Monica at 892-0353.

Sessions for kids ages 6 to 8 feature marble painting, paper mache, 3-D sculpture, stuffed paper creature, July 10-13; crayon resist, treasure box, foam frog, funky journal, July 24-27; string painting, handmade paper, pressed flowers picture frame, paper lantern, Aug. 7-10; and wind chime, cool T-shirt, wow flower pots, and laminated jointed figure, Aug. 21-24. All classes are from 2 to 4 p.m. The cost is $40 with preregistration required; call Denise or Denia at 921-1557.

All classes are held at Spokane Art Supply Too, 14208 E. Sprague.

Auditions

Auditions for the musical “Smoke on the Mountain,” directed by Bonnie Haleen, will be held July 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lake City Playhouse, 1320 E. Garden, Coeur d’Alene.

Seven adults (17 and older) are needed. Performers who can play banjo, guitar, piano, bass, harmonica and fiddle are preferred but not required. One woman in her twenties who knows sign language is also needed. This person does not need to sing.

Those wishing to audition should prepare a one-minute vocal selection and bring music. A pianist will be provided. Production dates are Sept. 1-16. For more information call (208) 667-1323.
