Phony Traveler’S Checks Circulating

Counterfeit traveler’s checks are circulating in Eastern Washington, police say.

The checks are printed as “Thomas Cook MasterCard” checks, all in the amount of $100. They are made out to the name Marcy Chambers.

They’re printed on lightweight paper and carry the serial number PF36-456-506. Businesses are warned to be on the lookout for the counterfeit checks, and police are looking for descriptions of anyone trying to cash a check and any vehicles associated with them.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check, 456-2233.
