Roadless Walks
Conservation
A series of guided hikes has been organized for this summer to offer a firsthand look at roadless areas in northeastern Washington that are threatened by potential development.
Kettle Range Conservation Group spokesmen say they are sponsoring the hikes so people understand what’s at stake in current federal roadless area protection proposals.
Hikes in the Colville National Forest include Abercrombie Mountain on July 8, Kettle Crest Trail on July 15, Hall Mountain on July 29, and Owl Mountain on Aug. 12.
Hikes in the Okanogan National Forest include Copper Glance Lake on July 16, Tiffany Mountain on Aug. 5 and Twentymile area on Sept. 23.
