Workers Break Gas Line, Closing Road
Workers at a Hayden Lake devel opment ruptured a natural gas line Saturday morning, closing a section of road for several hours.
Crews from Avista Corp. stopped the leak at about 1:30 p.m., three hours after it was reported, according to Laurine Jue, a spokeswoman for the company. The leak didn’t threaten neighboring homes or result in any outages, Jue said.
It was unclear how much gas was released. Jue said the main holds 50 pounds of gas per square inch.
