High School Students Will Converge On Gu
About 250 high school students from throughout Washington will spend this week on the Gonzaga University campus learning more about the principles of business.
The event, dubbed Business Week 2000, is the 18th such gathering sponsored by the Association of Washington Business and co-hosted by Gonzaga.
During the week, corporate executives introduce students to the business world and offer guidance while the students engage in intense marketing competition as executives in their own mock companies. Capping the week, final reports will be made to mock shareholders and students’ achievements will be recognized at a banquet.
GU President the Rev. Robert J. Spitzer is among the speakers who will address students. Spitzer will speak on business ethics at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday in Hughes Hall.
For more information, call Jane Hession at 323-3425 or Steve Hyer, the executive director of Business Week, at (800) 686-6442
