Man Arrested In Attack On Homeowner

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man who allegedly entered a West Valley residence and attacked the male homeowner.

Sunday around 9:30 p.m., a man forced his way into a home in the 3300 block of North Marguerite. Neither of the homeowners recognized the suspect. He was naked, according to the report by a sheriff’s deputy.

The suspect allegedly hit the male homeowner with a ceramic candle holder, cutting the man’s head, said sheriff’s spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan.

When a sheriff’s deputy arrived several minutes later, the homeowner had the suspect pinned to the floor and was punching him.

The intruder, identified as Derrick Brown, 28, of Spokane, was charged with felony burglary and assault, and booked into the Spokane County jail, Reagan said.
