Thomas Lott Sr. Coeur d’Alene

Visitation for Thomas J. Lott Sr., 50, will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by an Army honor guard burial at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Lott, who was born in Evansville, Ind., died Wednesday.

He lived in Phoenix before settling in Coeur d’Alene in 1996. .

Survivors include his wife, Lillian; six sons, Thomas Lott Jr. of Woodbridge, Va., William Lott of Herndon, Ky., Stephen Lott of Oldtown, Idaho, and Charles, Kristopher and Michael Lott, all of Coeur d’Alene; his father, William Lott of Phoenix; and seven grandchildren.

Angie Hinman Concord, Calif.

Service for Angie O’Brien Applonie Hinman, 85, was Feb. 24 at Lindquist Mortuary in Layton, Utah. Burial was at Aultorest Memorial Park in Ogden, Utah.

Mrs. Hinman, who was born in Raymond, Alberta, died Feb. 19. She grew up in Lewiston and married David Applonie in 1932. They lived in Utah until 1947, when they moved to Spokane.

After her husband’s death in 1965, she moved to California.

In 1970 she married Melvin Hinman. They moved to Post Falls in 1971.

Mrs. Himan recently moved to Concord.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission for the church in Lansing, Mich., in 1985.

Her husband died in 1983.

Survivors include a son, James Applonie of Moscow, Idaho; a daughter, Judy James of Concord; four sisters, Billie Douglas of Pleasant View, Utah, and Evelyn Isaac, Betty Dembitz and Pat VanDrimelen, all of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; 29 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren.

Lloyd `Tim’ Mathews Quincy, Wash.

Graveside service for Lloyd “Tim” Mathews, 62, is planned for 1 p.m. May 20 at the Moscow (Idaho) Cemetery. Kammann Mortuary in Yuma, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mathews died Feb. 6. He was born in Moscow and graduated from Moscow High School Mr. Mathews served in the Air Force for 10 years and in the Air National Guard for 18 years. He retired from the 141st Air Refueling Wing at Fairchild Air Force Base.

He lived in Four Lakes for more than 15 years and was water commissioner.

Mr. Mathews and his wife, Ardith, moved to Quincy eight years ago and spent winter months in Yuma.

He was a member of the Good Sam Club in Moscow and the Elks Lodge in Yuma.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Corey Mathews of Spokane, Bruce Mathews of Greenacres and Michael Mathews of Quincy; his mother and stepfather, Muriel and Marvin Bass of George, Wash.; a sister, Audrey Vessey of Ephrata, Wash.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James `Buck’ Taylor Post Falls

No service will be held for James H. “Buck” Taylor, 81, at his request. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Taylor, who was born in Nez Perce, Idaho, died Tuesday.

He grew up in Calder, Idaho, and graduated from St. Maries High School. He briefly worked as an assistant manager at J.C. Penney.

Mr. Taylor married Vivian Stone in 1942 and worked on a logging crew with the Buell family as a heavy equipment operator.

He also worked in the construction of Forest Service roads on the St. Joe River before moving in 1950 to Spokane, where he continued in the road construction and logging industry.

The couple settled in Post Falls in 1970. They lived there for 28 years until Mr. Taylor moved to the Coeur d’Alene Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.

Mr. Taylor had been active as a boater on the St. Joe River and had enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years; a son, Jim Taylor of Spokane; and two grandchildren, Mark Taylor of Moscow, Idaho, and Lynn Taylor of Spokane.

Delmer `Bud’ Wales Spokane

Memorial service for Delmer B. “Bud” Wales, 85, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2405 E. 57th. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

A 30-year Spokane resident, Mr. Wales died last Saturday. He was born in Ross, N.D.

He married Aurora Carter in 1934. They lived on a horse ranch near Ross, where they broke horses.

Mr. Wales worked as a truck driver delivering coal to the oilfields in Charlson, N.D. He also worked for the highway department and logged neared Columbia Falls, Mont.

He joined the Operating Engineers Union in 1956 and worked in road construction until retiring in 1981.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Eddy Mintle of Airway Heights and Colleen Kurt of Homer, Alaska; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Elpha (Fisher) Lake Spokane

Memorial service for Elpha L. (Fisher) Lake, 68, was Friday at the Manito Gardens Apartments.

A 48-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Lake died Tuesday. She was born in Denver.

She was a waitress and a member of Manito Presbyterian Church.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Johnson of Duval, Wash., and Kenneth Johnson of Corydon, Ind.; a daughter, Sharon Doble of Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, James Fisher Jr. of Spokane; three sisters, Lydia Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Monna Newton of Wichita, Kan., and Loreen Starrer of Cleveland, Okla.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Evelyn (Johnson) Forsell Hardin, Mont.

Burial for Evelyn “Ev” (Johnson) Frosell, 84, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane. Bullis Mortuary in Hardin is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Forsell, a former Coeur d’Alene and Spokane resident, died Monday. She was born in Red Cliff, Colo.

Her family later moved to Coeur d’Alene, where she graduated from high school.

In 1942 she married August Forsell. They moved to Spokane in 1944. They operated the Saw Clinic from the early 1950s until the late 1960s.

Mrs. Forsell later worked in the cafeteria at North Central High School and was a volunteer for Holy Family Hospital.

Her husband died in 1975.

She moved to Hardin in 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Enzminger of Hardin; two sisters, Emma Frisch of Spokane and Josephine Blakely of Post Falls; a brother, Carl Johnson of Coeur d’Alene; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Robert Martin Spokane

No service will be held for Robert M. Martin, 80. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Martin, a 55-year Spokane-area resident died Wednesday. He was born in Flint, Mich.

He entered in the Army in 1939 and served in the 19th Infantry Regiment until 1941 and then served as the desk sergeant for the military police in Spokane until 1945.

In 1944 he married Doris Potratz. They later divorced.

Mr. Martin farmed on the family farm in Fairfield until 1971. He later managed the Two Swabbies Hardware Store until 1979. He then worked as a real estate agent until 1983.

Mr. Martin was a member of the National 24th Infantry Division Association.

Survivors include a son, Richard Martin of Post Falls; two sisters, Viola Hiller of Corunna, Mich., and Beverly Tipton of Ypsilanti, Mich.; a brother, Elmer Martin of Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren.
