Clapton Scores Hat Trick

Eric Clapton has joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the third time. His fellow inductees included Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor and Earth, Wind & Fire, along with ‘60s hit-makers The Lovin’ Spoonful, doo-wop pioneers The Moonglows and executive Clive Davis. Honored now for his solo work, Clapton was already in the Hall for his work with the Yardbirds and Cream. His hits have spanned three decades, from “After Midnight” and “Wonderful Tonight” to the Grammy-winning “Tears in Heaven” and “Change the World.” Blues-rocker Raitt was largely a cult favorite until her 10th album, “Nick of Time,” won four Grammys in 1989. “Sweet Baby James” Taylor was the quintessential 1970s singer-songwriter with hits like “Fire and Rain.”
