Mt. Spokane High Names Lilac Princess

The sixth of 13 Lilac Festival princesses was chosen Wednesday night.

Erin Monroe, a Mt. Spokane High School senior, will represent her school. She is the daughter of Brent and Nancy Monroe.

Monroe, 17, plans to attend the University of Idaho in the fall and major in elementary education.

She has been involved in the National Honor Society, the student council, varsity volleyball, basketball and tennis. She is a Big Sister and Rotary Club volunteer. Monroe received the Jewelry Design Center scholarship worth $1,000.

West Valley will select its princess tonight.
