Randolph Rhodes Spokane
Memorial service for Randolph M.“Randy” Rhodes, 85, will be at 11 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home.
Born in Dawson, W. Va., Mr.
Rhodes died Tuesday.
He served in the Navy during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Mr. Rhodes worked as an electrician in California.
He moved to Spokane in 1983.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Cornelia; two daughters, Paula Dunlap of Spokane and Beckie Powell of Richland; a sister, Woodsie Scime of Spokane; three brothers, Richard Rhodes of Spokane, Emmett Rhodes of Livermore, Calif., and Eugene Rhodes of Advance, N.C.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Marguerite Courchaine Spokane
Memorial service for Marguerite G. Courchaine, 85, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope Church in Otis Orchards. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Eddyville, Ill., Mrs. Courchaine died Tuesday.
She moved to Spokane in 1924.
Mrs. Courchaine and her husband, Miles, farmed in Greenacres for 50 years. She also was a homemaker and Avon representative.
She was a member of Vera Congregational Church where she taught Sunday school.
Her husband of 60 years died in 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Snow of Veradale and Carol Bond of Nine Mile Falls; a brother, Don Jenkins of Woodinville, Wash.; three sisters, Elaine Brewrink and Patty Smart, both of Moses Lake, and Pauline Wolfe of Florida; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Paul Mathistad Spokane
Visitation for Paul H. Mathistad, 79, will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
A 40-year Spokane resident, Mr. Mathistad died Monday.
He was born in Ryder, N.D., and graduated from Watford City (N.D.) High School.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Mathistad was a manager for Jack’s 24 Hour Foods from 1961 to 1986.
His wife, Carol, died in 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Konrad and Nancy Peterson, both of Spokane; a son, Ken Mathistad of Spokane; a sister, Sylvia Allam of Bismarck, N.D.; and six grandchildren.

Carl Hargrave Spokane
Memorial service for Carl F. Hargrave, 78, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hillyard Assembly of God Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hargrave, a 50-year Spokane resident, died Monday. He was born in Sprague, Wash.
During World War II he was a sharpshooter in the Army.
He worked in the home construction industry.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a stepson, Justin Gilbreth of North Dakota; two stepdaughters, Debbie Hammers and Jeniffer Fuller, both of Spokane; a sister, Dorothy Hargrave of Spokane; two brothers, George Hargrave of Spokane and Don Hargrave of Post Falls; and eight grandchildren.
Mark Dompier Spokane
Graveside service for Mark H. Dompier, 94, is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 25-year Spokane resident, Mr. Dompier died March 1. He was born in Harvey, N.D.
He was a truck driver in the construction industry and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
His wife preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Harold Dompier; a brother, Eugene Dompier of Airway Heights; and a sister, Fern Hessdorfer of Spokane.
Luigia `Louise’ Zampetti Spokane Visitation for Luigia “Louise” Zampetti will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass and Vigil is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Zampetti, who was born in Serra San Quirico, Italy, died Wednesday. She was 89.
She was a homemaker and a 60-year Spokane resident.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Her husband, Vick, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Ben Zampetti of El Cajon, Calif.; a daughter, Lena Windishar of Spokane; a brother, Serafino Sbrega of Serra San Quirico; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Lola (Evenstad) Schumann Davenport, Wash.
Memorial service for Lola C. (Evenstad) Schumann, 69, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Egypt, Wash. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Sharon, N.D., Mrs. Schumann died Sunday.
In 1949 she married Arnold Schumann. They moved to Ritzville, Wash., in the 1950s and she worked as a cook for the Ritzville School District.
They moved to the Davenport area in 1988.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Ritch Schumann of Ritzville; a brother, Donald Evanstad of Sharon; a sister, Erma Hanson of Finley, N.D.; and a grandson.

Alice Humbert Spokane
Memorial service for Alice Theda Humbert, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Garland Avenue Alliance Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Humbert, who was born in Colman, S.D., died Sunday.
She was a 25-year Spokane resident.
Mrs. Humbert graduated from Santa Cruz (Calif.) High School. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper in Santa Cruz and other cities in California.
Mrs. Humbert was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of the Nimble Fingers Thimble Club.
Her husband of 30 years, John, died in 1973.
Survivors include three daughters, Theda Grinwis of Spokane, Kathryn De La Paz of San Antonio and Donna Wilcox of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; a sister, Erleen Russler of Nevada; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Sharon Bissell Spokane
Memorial service for Sharon L. Bissell, 62, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Miss Bissell died Saturday.
She graduated from West Valley High School in 1956.
Miss Bissell worked for the Spokane County Library and later was a librarian at Gonzaga University for 32 years.
Survivors include four brothers, John Bissell of Coeur d’Alene, Douglas Bissell of Spokane, Bill Bissell of Seattle and James Bissell of Bernsville, Minn.; and a sister, Pauline Yeargain of Severn, Md.
Floyd Rood Spokane
Service for Floyd Raymond Rood, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Born in Pierre, S.D., Mr. Rood died Tuesday.
He was a 62-year Spokane resident.
Mr. Rood and his wife, Clara, owned and operated an antique shop for 45 years.
He retired from the Carnation Co. as a sales representative and also worked for the Benewah Creamery for 10 years.
His wife of 50 years preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Potts of Spokane; eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Katherine Williams Quincy, Wash.
Graveside service for Katherine M. Williams, 79, is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Riverview Cemetery in Chelan, Wash. Scharabach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Williams died Sunday. She was born in Republic, Wash., and graduated from Republic High School.
During World War II she served as the Ferry County Treasurer. She was the traffic manager’s secretary for 30 years at Kaiser Aluminum and retired in 1983.
Mrs. Williams moved to Quincy in 1985.
Her husband, Earl, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Mike Williams of Spokane; and two daughters, Patti Smith of Quincy, Wash., and Sue Clarke of Peshastin, Wash.
Ralph Rodolph Spokane
Private service for Ralph D. Rodolph, 69, was held.
Mr. Rodolph, who was born in Omak, Wash., died Tuesday.
His family moved to Spokane in 1942 and graduated from North Central High School in 1950.
In 1967 he moved to Mesa, Ariz. He was a custodian for the Scottsdale (Ariz.) School District for 15 years. He later worked as a security officer.
Mr. Rodolph moved back to Spokane in 1990.
Survivors include a brother, Ronald Rodolph of Spokane; and a sister, Gloria Reddy of Aurora, Colo.
Bonnie (Keeler) Victor Cheney
Private burial for Bonnie L. (Keeler) Victor, 38, will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 21-year Cheney resident, Mrs. Victor died Feb. 19. She was born in Missoula, Mont.
She had worked for the housing inspector for the state of Montana and in 1979 married LeRoy Victor in Cheney.
Mrs. Victor was a dietary aide for the Cheney Care Center and had worked as a caregiver for Cope and Independent Services for the past three years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Daniel and Joseph Victor, both of Cheney; two daughters, Connie Carver of Spokane and Angela Victor of Cheney; two sisters, Beth Storm of Montana and Chris of Kansas; and two grandchildren.

Pearl (Platt) Armstrong Marysville, Wash.
Service for Pearl Illa (Platt) Armstrong, 86, was held Thursday at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville. Burial followed at the Marysville Cemetery.
Born in St. Maries, Mrs. Armstrong died Tuesday.
Mrs. Armstrong worked for American Laundry and then at Edgecliff Sanitarium in the Valley.
She was a 45-year Spokane resident and moved to Marysville 11 years ago.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.
Her husband of 25 years, Fred, died 1957.
Survivors include a son, Fred Armstrong of Ravensdale, Wash.; a daughter, Patricia Luce of Marysville; a sister, Alice McKerlie of Wenatchee; six grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
Donna (Wren) West Colbert
No service will be held for Donna Lee (Wren) West, 72, at her request. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Seattle, Mrs. West died last Wednesday.
She received a fine arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
In 1946 she married Jim West. They farmed near Hunters, Wash., until 1968 when they moved to Colbert.
Mrs. West and her husband owned and operated West’s North Spokane Dance Hall until 1992.
She was a member and elder of Hunters Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Susan Hirschel of Rockford and Jodie Buchanan of Colbert; a son, Dave West of Colbert; a brother, Ward Wren of Friday Harbor, Wash.; seven grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
Frances (Cullen) Dunnigan Spokane
Memorial Mass for Frances C. (Cullen) Dunnigan, 85, will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Dunnigan died Saturday.
She graduated in 1932 from Lewis and Clark High School and in 1935 from Holy Names Academy.
Mrs. Dunnigan received a master’s degree in Education from Gonzaga University in 1963.
She began teaching in the Republic (Wash.) School District and later in Medical Lake. She then came to the Spokane School District and taught for 25 years at Roosevelt and Wilson elementary schools. She retired in 1980.
Mrs. Dunnigan was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She also had been a volunteer docent at Walk in the Wild Zoo.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Linton of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Dan Dunnigan of Spokane and Bill Dunnigan of Mill Creek, Wash.; a brother, Patrick Cullen of Escondido, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Joshua Ashby Coeur d’Alene
A celebration of the life of Joshua James Ashby, 20, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the fellowship hall at Coeur d’Alene Seventh-day Adventist Church. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ashby, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Wednesday from cancer.
He attended Sandpoint Junior Academy before moving to Rathdrum in 1988 where he attended Lakeland High School. He then moved to Coeur d’Alene and graduated from Lake City High School in 1998.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Rhonda and Ken “Ike” Bomar of Rathdrum; his father and stepmother, Keith Ashby and Vicki Shaffer of Rathdrum; two stepsisters, Ronda Pringle of Spokane, and Nikki Shaffer of Texas; a stepbrother, Brian Shaffer of Rathdrum; his grandparents, Dorothy Ashby of Coeur d’Alene, and Ralph and Patricia Brown of California; and his girlfriend, Cara Williams of Coeur d’Alene.
Robert Poe Spokane
Memorial service for Robert Eugene “Bob” Poe, 79, will be at 1 p.m. April 21 at the old Loon Lake (Wash.) School House hall. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Huron, S.D., Mr. Poe died last Saturday.
During World War II he served in three campaigns with the 5th Division Marine Corps. From 1942 to 1945 he served as a paratrooper, rifleman and draftsman.
After his military service he was a draftsman for Pacific Valves in Long Beach, Calif. He also worked as a draftsman and printer for Cavin Oil Well Tools in California. He retired in 1982 and moved to Loon Lake, where he owned and operated RE-Poe Graphics. From 1985 to 1995 he designed the Loon Lake “Loon’s Day Walk” T-shirts.
He recently moved to Spokane.
His wife, Polly, died in 1974.
Survivors include two daughters, Nina Foster of California and Linda McElhinney of Spokane; a brother, Roger Poe of Indiana; four sisters, Hazel Heubauer and Shirley Jones, both of South Dakota, and LaVonne Russ and Betty Penland, both of California; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Elva Clayton Kennewick
Memorial service for Elva Anderson Clayton, 86, will be at 1 p.m. April 1 at the Colville (Wash.) Grange. Columbia Funeral Chapel in Richland is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Richland, Mrs. Clayton died Feb. 22.
She graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
Before marrying Austin Clayton, she worked as a writer for the newspaper in Jerome, Idaho. She then became a homemaker.
Mrs. Clayton and her husband lived in Ione, Wash., for 20 years and in Colville for 20 years. They moved to Kennewick 4 years ago.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years; two sons, Alan Clayton of Cowiche, Wash., and Roger Clayton of Aurora, Colo.; two daughters, Audrey Webb of Kennewick and Paula Clayton of Seattle; a sister, Edna Anderson of Chewelah; and 11 grandchildren.
