Snowmobiler Injures Shoulder In Accident
A Canadian man suffered an injured shoulder in a snowmobile accident Sunday in the mountains above Coeur d’Alene.
Leslie H. Hunter, 56, of Saskatchewan told Kootenai County deputies that he lost control of his snowmobile on Forest Service Road 206 near Burnt Cabin Saddle.
Hunter said he was trying to turn the snowmobile around when he accidentally hit the throttle, causing the machine to go over an embankment.
Hunter said he fell 25 feet and the snowmobile fell 75 feet down the slope.
Hunter suffered an apparent separated shoulder.
He was rescued by ambulance sled and transported to Fernan Saddle.
Hunter was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not involved, the report said.
