Geneive (Oswald) Clerico Spokane

Geneive Livina (Oswald) Clerico, who was born March 14, 1898, in Bakersfield, Calif., celebrates her 102nd birthday today.

Clerico has lived in Eastern Washington since January 1992.

She married Basilio Clerico Dec. 31, 1919.

Geneive Clerico was bookkeeper for the family farm and a homemaker for 62 years. She also owned a boutique for several years and specialized in wedding apparel.

Her husband died in 1981.

Clerico has two sons, Clarence and Robert Clerico, both of Bakersfield, Calif; three daughters, Leona Reedy of Spokane, Joanne Alderson of Pasco and Leota Clark of Whidbey Island, Wash.; 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Described as a loving, caring person, Clerico attributes her longevity to God’s will.
