Two Men Rob Valley Grocery Store

Two men robbed a Spokane Valley grocery store late Sunday, taking cash and several thousand dollars worth of cigarettes.

They fled in a black car driven by a third man.

The pair, who wore ski masks, apparently hid inside Excell Foods, 14515 E. Trent, until it closed at 8 p.m., according to a sheriff’s report.

Fifteen minutes later, the pair confronted two employees who were counting the day’s receipts in the store office.

The robbers told employees they were armed, but showed no weapons, deputies said. They forced one of the employees into a cooler, where he was forced to remain until after the robbers fled.

The second employee was ordered to lay prone on the floor. The sheriff’s office did not disclose the amount of stolen cash.
