US Airways and its flight attendants union return to the bargaining table with federal mediators today in a final effort to reach agreement on a new contract before March 25, when the airline has said it will shut down rather than risk a strike.

Third-quarter earnings at Nike rose 17 percent, beating Wall Street estimates, despite a shakeout among U.S. retail chains.

Barnes & Noble Inc.’s stock rose nearly 12 percent on Thursday after the giant bookseller reported its sales and profits climbed in the fourth quarter, fueled by strong results at its large bookstores.

Starting Sunday, Priceline WebHouse Club, a private affiliate of Priceline.com Inc., plans to offer consumers similar name-your-own-price deals on everything from TV dinners to tuna fish and tortilla chips.
