Reconciliation topic
A four-person religious panel discussion will be broadcast live from Gonzaga University at 7 p.m. Wednesday on AT&T Cable Channel 15. The broadcast, titled “The New Millennium: Relationships and Reconciliation,” will take place at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church on campus. The public is welcome to attend.
The discussion will feature Bishop William Skylstad of the Catholic Diocese of Spokane; Jeannie Givens, a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and former Idaho state representative; Bishop Walter Mize of Christ Sanctified Church of Spokane; and Mary Stamp, editor of the Fig Tree, an ecumenical newspaper.
The moderator will be Raymond Reyes, Gonzaga’s associate academic vice president for diversity.
The focus of the event will be the local Christian community’s mission of building a culture of faith, justice and peace. Members of the live and television audiences will be invited to ask questions of the panelists. (509-323-6648)
Women’s retreat in Post Falls
All Christian women are invited to Aglow International’s spring retreat March 31-April 2 at Cavanaughs Templin’s Resort in Post Falls. The featured speaker will be JoNell Rehfuss from Texas, who is a U.S. director for Aglow International.
This year’s retreat theme is “Seeking (the Father), Standing (in Jesus), and Soaring (in the Spirit).”
Those attending the evening session of March 31 are invited to bring guests at no cost.
Cost is $70, which includes meals and workshops. Special room rates are available.

Memorial march Friday
A memorial march to observe the death of Oscar Romero will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. The 1.5-mile march, organized by the Peace and Justice Action League, will conclude outside the U.S. Courthouse downtown, where an ecumenical worship service will begin at 4 p.m.
Romero, archbishop of El Salvador, was assassinated 20 years ago as he celebrated Mass. Some now hail him as a martyr. (509-838-7870)
Concert to honor former bishop
A memorial concert will be Sunday in honor of the Right Rev. Frank Jeffrey Terry, Episcopal bishop of Spokane from 1991 until his death last year from complications of a heart transplant.
The concert will begin at 2 p.m. at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist at 12th and Grand Boulevard. The performance will include the Cathedral Choir, the organ and an instrumental ensemble.
The public is welcome. A free-will offering will be collected.
Biblical marriage seminar
A biblical seminar on marriage titled “Toward a Growing Marriage” will be offered Friday and next Saturday at Fourth Memorial Church, 2000 N. Standard. The seminar will be led by Gary Chapman, author of several family books, including “Loving Solutions,” “Parenting Your Adult Child” and “The Five Love Languages.”
The event will address topics such as how to handle negative feelings toward your mate, how to communicate amid conflict and how to rekindle love. It runs from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. next Saturday.
The cost is $65 per couple or $35 per person, which includes a copy of Chapman’s book “Toward a Growing Marriage.”

Festival of Lots will be observed
The Messianic Jewish Fellowship of Spokane will observe the biblical Festival of Lots (Purim) with an evening of worship at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Corbin Senior Activity Center, 827 W. Cleveland.
The evening will include a play based on the book of Esther, worship and dessert. Those attending are asked to bring a dessert to share.

Eckankar discussions planned
The area Eckankar group will host a series of discussions starting this week at the Post Falls Public Library, 821 N. Spokane. The weekly sessions will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Thursday through April 6.
The discussions will cover the book “The Art of Spiritual Dreaming” by Harold Klemp, Eckankar spiritual leader. (208-777-9030)
Baha’i New Year approaches
Members of Baha’i Faith will celebrate the New Year (Naw-Ruz) on Monday, the first day of spring. In accordance with Baha’i beliefs, on that day the faithful conclude a traditional 19-day fast in which adults abstain from food and drink from sunup to sundown.
The new year will be celebrated with a dinner at Old Country Buffet in the Franklin Park Mall, 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and a potluck dinner, 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the Spokane Valley Library. Both events are open to the public. (509-326-0152)
One-man play scheduled at GU
Gonzaga University will host a one-man play performed by John Chalberg at 7 p.m. Monday in the student chapel, on the third floor of the Administration Building.
“An Evening with G.K. Chesterton” tells of a turn-of-the-century English author of detective stories, social commentary and theology.
