Racial extremists will be topic
The Rev. Jerry Walters will speak at an ecumenical gathering, “Exposing the New Racial Extremists,” at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at 24th and Grand Boulevard. His presentation will include biblical responses to racist views.
Walters was serving as a pastor in Montana when he clashed with the Freeman group. He began researching their views and studying the Bible to come up to responses to their beliefs.
He wrote “One Aryan Nation Under God: Exposing the New Racial Extremist.”
Admission is $5.
Spiritual healing to be taught
A lecture and workshop are scheduled for April 6-9 at the Sacred Heart Medical Center’s Providence Auditorium, 24 W. Ninth.
“Tools for Intuition and Spiritual Healing,” a free lecture by Jim Self, will be 6-8 p.m. April 6.
A workshop on the same topic will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 8 and 9 in the auditorium.
Self has taught intuitive healing for nearly 20 years and is the co-founder or the Avalon Institute in California.
