Walla Walla Teams Win
Walla Walla’s boys and girls swept the Lewiston Invitational, the girls edging Post Falls 77-76 for the team title.
Post Falls won the 400- and 1,600-meter relays and received a win from pole vaulter Trish Wagner, who cleared 9 feet, 6 inches.
Sandpoint’s Stacey Bolstad earned the outstanding award in girls sprints. Bolstad won the 100 in 12.7, the 200 in 26.3 and the 400 in 59.9.
Moscow’s Jenni Liou was named girls distance outstanding athlete after winning the 800 (2:25.1) and placing second in the 1,600 (5:23.4).
Post Falls’ boys were a distant second to Walla Walla, 147-54. Area winners were: J.D. DaVault, Sandpoint, 110 hurdles; Mica Kunkel, St. Maries, 800; Randy Dozier, Sandpoint, pole vault; Brian Babcock, Coeur d’Alene, shot put; Dirk Bortz, Bonners Ferry, discus; and Mike Anderson, Lewiston, 400. Anderson also anchored the winning 800 relay.
