Examiner Tables Equus Ridge Bid

From Staff

A Kootenai County hearing examiner has tabled a local developer’s request to build an equestrian-style subdivision south of Post Falls.

Citing several items of unfinished work, examiner Gary Young delayed a hearing on Equus Ridge, a proposed 41-lot subdivision on 325 acres on Blossom Mountain.

The development would have a single entrance off Greensferry Road, about a mile south of the Spokane River.

Young included a list of recommendations that developer Mark Wiggins could complete to gain approval for the project.

Those recommendations include resubmitting plans to the Post Falls Highway District; obtaining a letter of opinion from the State Division of Environmental Quality about proposed septic systems; submitting an engineer’s opinion about costs to extend the Greensferry Water system; and giving new notice of the public hearing before the hearing examiner or county commissioners.
