Francis Llewellyn Spokane

Visitation for Francis L. Llewellyn, 86, will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Ball and Dodd Medical Lake Funeral home. Service is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Llewellyn, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Wednesday.

He attended school in Cheney.

Mr. Llewellyn worked as the superintendent of buildings and maintenance at Geiger Field from 1950 to 1969. He then worked in engineering as a civilian at Fairchild Air Force Base, inspecting buildings and radar sights. He worked with the 823rd Radar Squadron in Mica Peak until his retirement in 1975.

He also was the fire chief in Medical Lake for five years.

Mr. Llewellyn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Medical Lake. He was a member of the Medical Lake Fire Department, Medical Lake school board, and spent nine years as a Medical Lake City Councilman.

His wife, Irene, died in 1994.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Llewellyn of Spokane and Bob Llewellyn of Bellevue; two daughters, Karen Llewellyn of Spokane and Marlene Brown of Medical Lake; a brother, John Llewellyn of Lewiston; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Spokane.

Christine Wilson Spokane

Memorial service for Christine Brandi Wilson, 48, will be at 2 p.m. today at Valley Fourth Memorial Church. Neptune Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilson, who was born in Los Angeles, died Thursday. She was a 23-year resident of Spokane.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Eric; a son, Ray Wilson of Greenacres; a sister, Lori Mathe; and a brother, Kurt Hotchkiss.

Henry Jans Sprague, Wash.

Visitation for Henry Jans, 99, will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash. Service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Vault burial will follow at Edwall (Wash.) Roman Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Jans, who was born in Portland, died Wednesday.

He graduated from Edwall High School in 1919. There he was a member of the Lincoln County championship basketball team.

Mr. Jans married Cecilia Hanlon in 1931.

He was a farmer in Sprague, until he retired in the early 1970s.

Mr. Jans was a member of the Lincoln County Wheat Growers Association.

His wife died in 1997.

Survivors include a son, Donald Jans of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Marilyn Before of Great Falls, Mont., and Kay Walker of Vancouver, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gonzaga University Basketball Program.

Cheryl Norris Spokane

Memorial service for Cheryl Ann Norris, 36, will be at 1 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Norris, who was born in Ridley Park, Pa., died Thursday from breast cancer.

She graduated from high school in Riverside, Calif.

Mr. Norris married Michael Norris in 1989, and they moved to Spokane in 1990.

She worked at Lyn-Tron for six years.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Michelle; her father, Eric MacFarlane of Florida; her mother, Ruth Dean of Whidbey Island, Wash.; three sisters, Kathy MacFarlane of Belfair, Wash., Margie Valdey of Encinitas, Calif., and Debbie Glessner of San Clemente, Calif.; and a brother, Jason MacFarlane of Henderson, Nev.

Ruth Herrington Lakewood, Wash.

Memorial service for Ruth Adelle Herrington, 85, will be held at a later date. Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Herrington, who was born and raised in Spokane, died April 19.

She was a graduate of North Central High School. She also held a bachelor’s degree in botany and a teaching certificate from Washington State University.

In 1938 she married George Herrington.

Mrs. Herrington taught science and special education classes at West Valley High School, Central Valley High School and other Otis Orchards schools.

She and her husband had a business together, Herrington’s Electrical.

Mrs. Herrington was past president of the Parent Teachers Association, Garden Club. She was also a member of Methodist Church and the March of Dimes. She was a Ham Radio Operator involved in the Mars Program.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Julieof Longview, Wash.; a son, Bob of Tacoma; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
