Nostalgia Groups Play Casino

Take a trip back to the ‘50s tonight with three groups that will remind you of a simpler time. Current versions of the Drifters, the Platters and the Coasters will perform at the Coeur d’Alene Casino in Worley, Idaho.

The groups, with their infectious harmonies and choreography, are a few of the hundreds of touring nostalgia shows that resurrect the doo-wop sounds of decades ago.

The Drifters produced several Top 40 hits in their day, including “Up On the Roof,” “Under the Boardwalk” and “On Broadway.” The Platters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 after making “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” “The Great Pretender” and others their own.

The Coasters were known for their comedic rock and roll takes like “Charlie Brown,” “Yakety Yak” and “Love Potion No. 9.”

The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for reserved seats or $10 for general admission, available through G&B.
