Disney’S New Park

“Disney’s Califoria Adventure,” Walt Disney Attractions’ newest theme park in Aneheim, California, will open its golden gates to guests on Feb. 8, 2001, announced Paul Pressler, president of Walt Disney Attractions. Pressler made the announcement today during the Travel Industry Association of America’s annual Pow Wow international trade show in Dallas, Texas. Disney’s California Adventure is the centerpiece of a major expansion at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California. Disney has other theme parks in Orlando, Fla., Paris, France and Tokyo, Japan. The company had planned to open a Disney America park in Washington, D.C. a few years ago but scrapped the idea because they wanted a “less culturally sensitive area,” company officials said.
