World Wide Packets within a month will move its 50 employees into new corporate headquarters in the Spokane Valley, company officials said Tuesday.

The technology company has bought the former Future Shop building at Sprague and Sullivan, said CEO Bernard Daines. The price was not disclosed.

World Wide Packets is developing a hardware-based broadband data-delivery system for homes and businesses. Daines launched the company more than a year ago after selling his previous operation, Packet Engines, to French consortium Alcatel.

Daines said the company plans to have 100 employees by year’s end. It’s currently using office space near Pines and Mission.

In its new building, the company will use the 30,000-square-foot space for two to three years. Daines said a 24,000-square-foot addition also is planned.

Total cost for the renovation and expansion should reach about $3 million, said company officials.
