Worker Charged With Shooting Boss

A construction worker is being held in the shooting death of his boss at an apartment remodeling project where he and other workers said the boss had been hounding him.

Roy Hornling Quan, 50, of Seattle, died of multiple gunshot wounds Monday morning in a second-floor unit of the three-story Berkshire apartments, about six blocks west of the Tacoma Dome, police officer Jim Mattheis said.

A 47-year-old Seattle man surrendered to police shortly afterward, cooperated with investigators and was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of first-degree murder, Mattheis said.

The shooting arose from “a dispute between the boss and the employee,” Mattheis said. The only witness to the shooting, Shaun Klier, another employee on the eight-member remodeling crew, said the man told the boss, “Don’t interrupt me! Don’t tell me how to do my job,” pulled a handgun from his pants and fired several shots.
