Giuliani To Return Campaign Money
Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said Thursday he will return $2.8million to people who contributed to his aborted Senate campaign and ask them to send their money to Rep. Rick Lazio instead.
Giuliani also said he will campaign with Lazio next week.
Giuliani, 55, withdrew from the Senate race against Hillary Rodham Clinton on May 19 after announcing he has treatable prostate cancer and marital problems. Lazio, a four-term Republican congressman from Long Island, jumped into the race the next day.
Giuliani, who raised $20 million for the race, had $9.2 million left at the time of his last reporting deadline, March 31.
