Shopko/Capones Win Coed Softball C Title

The Coeur d’Alene softball season finished up its preseason tournaments last weekend. ShopKo/Capones won the coed tournament as Keith Sims guided the way with a 3-for-3 performance including a home run and crossing the plate three times.

Jodi Feek was 4-for-4 with two doubles for Ultra Fit/GNC in the Women’s C Championship. Leslie Naccarato was 4-for-4 including a home run to lead the Turnball Truckers from Priest River in the Women D title.

Winning the Men’s Championship was Royal Appliance. Al Duran had five hits and a home run in the championship game.

In last week’s soccer action at Rathdrum, the Warriors defeated the Lions 3-1 and the Alligators 4-1 in the U-6 division. Bradley Pruitt scored three goals, two against the Alligators and one in the Lions defeat.

Cody Gasper scored four goals for the Wolves as he led the pack to a 4-0 victory over the Lions. Gasper then hit for two more as the Wolves battled the Grizzlies to a 2-2 draw.

In other U-6 action, Trevor Masterson had four goals in two games for the Renegades as they defeated Big Thunder Kickers and Mewtwos.

Tennis lesson registration will be June 8-9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene recreation office. Classes are offered for ages 8 through adults. The fee is $15 for children and $21 for adults.

The Hershey Track Meet will be held June 10 at Lake City High School starting at 10 a.m. Its open to boys and girls boys ages 9-14. You can register the day of the meet at 9 a.m.
