Ben and Alta Reed celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday with a family gathering at their home.

Hosts for the event were their children: Sharon Nicholson, Kirkland, Wash., and Joyce Reed, Spokane.

The Reeds were married May 27, 1950, in Coeur d’Alene. They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
