Gary Scribner Cheney
Memorial service for Gary Thomas Scribner, 51, will be at 3 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home.
A 42-year Spokane-area resident, Mr. Scribner died Friday. He was born in Seminole, Okla.
He graduated from Mead High School.
Mr. Scribner worked as a warehouseman at Glacier Mountain Floral for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Peggy; two sons, Adam and Ethan Scribner, both of Spokane; two daughters, Gretchen Sterritt of Post Falls and Amy Blondin of Washington, D.C.; his parents, Harold and Merry Scribner, and a brother, Johnny Scribner, all of Spokane; a sister, Patti Conkle of Olney, Mont.; and a grandson.
Pauline Pfenning Gwinner, N.D.
Service for Pauline Georgia Pfenning, 67, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Osburn, Idaho. Burial will be at Shoshone Memorial Gardens in Pinehurst, Idaho. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pfenning, who was born in Beulah, N.D., died last Friday.
She married Albert Weil in 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1959. She then married Erhardt Pfenning in 1960, and he died in 1995.
Mrs. Pfenning was a homemaker and in 1955 moved to the Silver Valley. She was a member of Osburn Bethany Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and baking.
She returned to North Dakota in 1998.
Survivors include four children, Clarence Weil of Wallace, Idaho, Clarice Priebe of Osburn, Kevin Pfenning of Post Falls and Keith Pfenning of Spokane; three sisters, Arlene Bauer of Arizona, Doris Fetter of Post Falls and Olga Pender of Hawley, Minn.; three brothers, Bernard Horning of Olympia, Edwin Horning of Detroit and Harold Horning of Osburn; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Goldie Doyle Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Goldie M. Doyle, 90, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Oroville, Wash. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Oroville. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Doyle, who was born in Nebraska, died last Thursday.
She moved with her family to the Okanogan Valley in Washington in the late 1920s.
She married Alvin Doyle in 1928. They traveled for several years and then settled in Oroville and worked as dairy farmers for 30 years before retiring.
Mrs. Doyle then worked as an apple packer in the Oroville orchards. She enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking and outdoor recreation.
Her husband died in 1994 and moved to Coeur d’Alene to be near family.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Doyle of Coeur d’Alene and Bud Doyle of Oroville; a daughter, Jouette Cook of Wilbur, Wash.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Floyd `Ole’ Olson Newport, Wash.
Service for Floyd “Ole” Olson, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at ShermanKnapp Funeral Home in Newport. Burial will follow at the Newport Cemetery.
Born in Spokane, Mr. Olson died Sunday.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Olson moved to Newport in 1946 from Montana.
He worked as an operating engineer for 50 years. He worked on various construction projects throughout the Northwest.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Theadora; two daughters, Sharon Colby of Spangle and Roberta Buck of Oldtown, Idaho; two sons, Bjorn Olson of Blanchard, Idaho, and James Olson of Reno, Nev.; three sisters, Orpha Dionne and Bernice Anderson, both of Spokane, and Dolly Lear of Newport; and 11 grandchildren.
Edward Crowley Medical Lake
Memorial service for Edward R. Crowley, 68, was held Tuesday at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Crowley, who was born in Jim Thorpe, Pa., died Sunday.
He was a 35-year Medical Lake resident and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
There are no surviving family members.
Reinhold Braun Sedro Woolley, Wash.
Graveside service for Reinhold R. Braun, 84, will be at 1 p.m. today at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Kern Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Turtle Lake, N.D., Mr. Braun died Tuesday.
He joined the Army in 1942 and served in Vancouver, Wash., Seattle and Alaska. He was discharged in 1946.
Mr. Braun married Martha Gottschall in 1947.
They lived in Turtle Lake, where he was a farmer.
In 1955 they moved to Spokane.
He worked as a truck driver for Kaiser Aluminum for 27 years. He retired in 1983.
Mr. Braun moved to Western Washington in 1992 and lived in Tacoma. He moved to Sedro Woolley six years ago.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 1744 and the Spokane Eagles Lodge.
His wife died in 1967.
Survivors include two daughters, Penny Ramirez of Spokane and Sharon Garrett of Mount Vernon; six sons, Michael Braun of Cheney, Larry Braun of Summer, Wash., Rickey Braun of Sea-Tac, Wash., Eugene Braun of Trego, Mont., Joe Gottschall of California and Randy Braun of South Lake Tahoe, Nev.; a sister, Hilda Reiser of Oaks, N.D.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Geraldine Schorling Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Geraldine Alberta “Jerry” Schorling, 86, will be today at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene. Interment will be at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schorling, who was born in Porterville, Calif., died Saturday.
She married Ted Schorling in the mid-1930s, and they lived in Fresno, Calif., for many years before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1988.
Mrs. Schorling was a homemaker and crafts artist. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and the church’s Peace Circle, which was involved with service projects at the Coeur d’Alene Women’s Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years.
Survivors include a son, Bert Schorling of Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Eileen Johnson of Coeur d’Alene; and four grandchildren.

Lynne Huff Rogers Spokane
Service for Lynne Huff Rogers, 49, will be today at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Silverton. Burial will be at Osburn Cemetery in Osburn, Idaho. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rogers, who was born in Burley, Idaho, died Friday.
She graduated from Wallace High School in 1969 and then from Idaho State University.
She later worked for Kootenai Title Co. in Coeur d’Alene until moving to Bethel, Alaska, where she worked for G.T.E.
Mrs. Rogers also worked for the Sitka (Alaska) Police Department and the Everett Police Department before moving last year to Spokane, where she worked for a plant nursery.
Survivors include her parents, Stanley and Joyce Huff of Osburn, Idaho; a sister, Lori Goldade of Pocatello, Idaho; two brothers, Scott Huff of Houston and Bruce Huff of Reno, Nev.; one niece and several nephews.

Jeanette Arnold Spokane
Service for Jeanette L. Arnold, 55, will be at 10 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Arnold, who was born in Longview, Wash., died Monday from ovarian cancer.
She grew up on a farm in St. Maries.
Mrs. Arnold was a 32-year Spokane resident and worked as a dental assistant.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Steve; two sons, Andrew Arnold of Grandview, Wash., and Shawn Arnold of Japan; a daughter, Jennifer Randolph of San Diego; her mother, Esther Muller; two sisters, Linda Arnold of Spokane and Elaine Lindsey of Canby, Ore.; and four grandchildren.
Barbara Lindoff Harrison, Idaho
Graveside service for Barbara Lindoff, 80, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Harrison City Cemetery. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lindoff, who was born in Indianapolis, died Saturday.
She graduated from high school in Indianapolis in 1937 and then worked as a bank teller there.
Mrs. Lindoff later worked as a secretary at Edwards Air Force Base in California from 1957 to 1967. She married Arthur Lindoff in 1968, and they moved to Spokane and then to Malden, Wash., before moving to St. Maries in 1978.
She moved to Harrison in 1980 and was involved in latch-hook crafts.
Mrs. Lindoff had also traveled to the Oregon Coast.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Artur; a son, Ray Young of Spokane; three stepsons, Bruce Lindoff of Camas, Wash., and Bill and Duane Lindoff, both of California; and four grandchildren.
Donna Clark Colfax, Wash.
Memorial service for Donna Lee Clark, 67, will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Plymouth Congregational Church in Colfax, Wash. Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow, Idaho, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Clark, who was born in Colfax, died Sunday.
Mrs. Clark graduated from high school in 1952 and then attended college for a short time before marrying Marvin Clark.
Her husband preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and also had worked at the Whitman County Library and then managed the Siesta Motel in Colfax for 13 years before retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include a daughter, Shannon Turner of Othello, Wash.; a son, Russell Clark of Lansdale, Pa.; her mother, Frankie Cota of Moscow; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Anna Margaret Best Trestle Creek, Idaho
Memorial service for Anna Margaret Best, 75, will be held at a later date at Jeb and Margaret’s Trailer Haven in Trestle Creek.
Mrs. Best, who was born on the family ranch in Oden, Idaho, died Friday.
She grew up in the Oden area and graduated from Sandpoint High School.
She married J.C. Best in 1946, and they lived in the Sandpoint and Trestle Creek area. They moved to Bonners Ferry in 1950 and then moved back to Trestle Creek in 1955. They purchased land and later operated Jeb and Margaret’s Trailer Haven in Trestle Creek.
Mrs. Best was a homemaker, wife and mother who enjoyed fishing, dancing, gardening and music.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jeb; two sons, Terry Best of Indiana and Roger Best of Trestle Creek; a daughter, Sheryl Kins of Sandpoint; a sister, Cecelia Manfred of Spokane; and nine grandchildren.
Kathryn Enix Colfax, Wash.
Visitation for Kathryn L. Enix, 88, will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax. Graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at the Colfax Cemetery.
Mrs. Enix, who was born in Walla Walla, died Tuesday.
She received a nursing degree from St. Maries Nursing School in Walla Walla.
She married Edward Enix in 1943, and they lived in Seattle, where she worked as a registered nurse. They then moved to Colfax in 1966.
Mrs. Enix and her husband leased and operated the Palouse (Wash.) Nursing Center. She worked as a registered nursed at the nursing center.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Colfax.
Her husband died in 1987.
Mrs. Enix is survived by a niece, Ruby Benabente of Montana.
