Kate Vanskike and Michael J. Smith were united in marriage Sept. 16 at the Japanese Gardens in Manito Park.

Tom and Tony Vanskike, Broken Arrow, Okla. are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Ralph and Jean Smith, Post Falls.

A reception followed at Curley’s Hauser Junction in Hauser, Idaho. They are living in Spokane after a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico.

The bride is a public relations writer at Sacred Heart Medical Center and has degrees in English and theology from HannibalLaGrange College in Hannibal, Mo. The groom is a machine operator at IMSA Steel Building Products in Spokane.
