I-90 Reopened After Toxic Spill
Interstate 90 between here and Park City reopened Thursday after a truck overturned and spilled toxic cargo, closing the interstate for 11-1/2 hours.
The tractor-trailer transporting hazardous fluids and gases overturned Wednesday night when the driver swerved to avoid an object on the road, the Montana Highway Patrol said. The crash happened near I-90’s Laurel exit.
Cargo aboard the North Dakota truck included ammonia hydrochloride, methyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol. A hazardous-materials team from Billings completed cleanup Thursday morning.
The truck driver received minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
