Ralph Needham Jr. St. Maries
Memorial service for Ralph O. Needham Jr., 66, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries.
Mr. Needham, who was born in Sandpoint, died Sunday.
He grew up in Fernwood, Idaho, and later worked as a logging-truck driver, with his father, for Phillips Logging in Port Angeles, Wash.
In 1975 Mr. Needham married Maxine Mullins. They lived in the Port Angeles area and returned to Fernwood in 1980.
After a debilitating accident Mr. Needham worked part time for D & D Recycling in Fernwood. He enjoyed model airplanes and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; 10 sons, Ralph Needham III of Elma, Wash. Keith, Tony, Terry, and Robert Needham, all of Fernwood, Gene Needham of Montesano, Wash., Floyd, Chris, and Lancer Mullins, all of Missouri, and Daniel Mullins of Spirit Lake, Idaho; six daughters, Deborah Wemhoff of Post Falls, Lynn Decker of Bremerton, Tina Campbell of Maine, and Debbie Conzulman and Eula Needham, both of Sequim, Wash.; two sisters, Ilene Churchill of Graham, Wash., and Evelyn McCoy of Kamiah, Idaho; 50 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Jentz `Pete’ Pedersen Clarkston, Wash.
Graveside service for Jentz Theodore “Pete’ Pedersen, 64, will be at 1 p.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane. Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston, Idaho, was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pedersen, who was born in Spokane, died Nov. 6.
He grew up in Spokane and later worked for Spaulding Auto Wrecking for 11 years before moving to Sandpoint. He purchased Forest Brothers Auto, which became Pete’s Truck and Auto.
Mr. Pedersen was known for his ability to operate a tow truck, and could locate almost any used, hard-to-find automobile part.
He moved to the Lewis-Clark Valley area after retiring 14 years ago. He then worked part-time for Lewiston Forest Auto and Truck Parts.
Mr. Pedersen enjoyed motorcycle racing, fishing, hunting and auto mechanics.
Survivors include a son, Randall Pederson of Pueblo, Colo.; four daughters, Cindy Ewing of Wasilla, Alaska, Mistie Kinney of Sandpoint, Brandie Pedersen of Davenport, Wash., and Sandy Pedersen of Clarkston; a sister, Barbara Allen of Spokane; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Margaret (Lincoln) Lathen Spokane
Service for Margaret L. (Lincoln) Lathen, 77, will be at 1 p.m. today at Mead Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 40-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Lathen died Friday.
She was born in Lewiston and raised in Newport, Wash.
Mrs. Lathen worked in central supply at Sacred Heart Medical Center for 27 years.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Oakesdale, Wash.
Her first husband, Henry Wilson, died in 1954. Her second husband, Cecil Lathen, died in 1966.
Survivors include six children, Sam, Peggy, Virginia, Arlene, Ken and Tom; a brother, Verne Lincoln; a sister, Barbara Hartt of Coeur d’Alene; 10 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Brandon Kennedy Bonners Ferry
Service for Brandon Wiley Kennedy, 13, was Monday at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. A graveside service followed at Paradise Valley Cemetery near Bonners Ferry.
Brandon, who was born in Sandpoint, died Friday.
He lived in Porthill, Idaho for several years. His family then lived in Bonners Ferry for a couple of years before moving to Naples, Idaho, where he attended school until third grade.
He and his family returned to Bonners Ferry in 1995. They settled in the Cow Creek area in 1999.
Brandon enjoyed video games, bicycling, target shooting, pets and family activities.
Survivors include his parents and siblings, Dusty and Louis Chapman, and Brec, Celease and David, all of Bonners Ferry; grandparents, Brandy Shave of Troy, Mont., Gary Hines, and Kenneth and Marilyn Chapman, all of Bonners Ferry; his great-grandparents, Delton and Barbara Chapman of Bonners Ferry; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Glen Ross Dalton Gardens, Idaho
Private graveside service for Glen I. Ross, 93, will be today. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ross, who was born in Genesee, Idaho, died Saturday.
He was a lifetime Pacific Northwest resident and worked with the U.S. Forest Service before beginning a 50-year career as a journeyman lineman with Washington Water Power.
Mr. Ross had received two life-saving certificates for the rescue of fellow workers during his employment with WWP.
He retired in 1971 and then built a home in Dalton Gardens.
Mr. Ross enjoyed hunting, and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; four daughters, Charlene Blackwell of Boulder City, Nev., Beverly Dawe of Tukwila, Wash., Linda Law of Coeur d’Alene, and Nancy Fietsam of Dalton Gardens; a sister, Faith Bain of Lynnwood, Wash.; a brother, Wesley Ross of Snohomish, Wash.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Lois Shook Spokane
Viewing for Lois Martha Shook, 89, will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow, Idaho. Service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Moscow Cemetery.
Mrs. Shook, who was born in Rosalia, Wash., died Thursday.
She grew up in Sanders, Idaho, and later moved to Tekoa, Wash., where she graduated from high school.
In 1930 she married Charles Shook. They lived in the Idaho cities of Emida, Clarkia, and St. Maries, before moving to Garfield, Wash., and then Oakesdale, Wash. In 1989 they settled in Lewiston. She moved to Spokane in 1998.
Mrs. Shook enjoyed dancing, and was a member of the Oakesdale Women’s Club.
Her husband died in 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Dale Schmooch of Spokane; two sons, Paul Shook of Cheney, and Gary Shook of Nevada; 12 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren.

Claude Dodd Sandpoint
Visitation for Claude J. Dodd, 66, will be today from noon to 5 p.m., and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Burial will follow at Pack River Cemetery near Sandpoint.
Mr. Dodd, who was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, died Saturday.
He attended school in North Battleford and then moved to Kirkland, Wash. and finished his education there before joining the Air Force.
Mr. Dodd served as a bomber crew chief during the Korean War. He later settled in Renton, Wash., and operated Security Patrol services with his father.
Mr. Dodd was also a patrolman for the Renton Police Department from 1962 until 1968. He later operated another security firm.
He married his wife, Caroline in 1963 and the couple moved to Sandpoint in 1971, where he worked for Arrow Tie Mill. He then went to work for Wes Olson Trucking. He moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, with the business and drove a truck for three years during the construction of the Alaska Pipeline.
He later settled in Coeur d’Alene and operated Classic Car Center before moving to Green River, Wyo., where he drove a charter bus for Zanetti Bus Lines for three years.
Mr. Dodd returned to Sandpoint and opened Libra Inc. longhaul trucking company. He was authorized to operate in 49 states and Canada. He recently drove his own tractor and trailer.
Mr. Dodd enjoyed fishing, golfing and horses, and also played the drums.
Survivors include his wife; five children, Rick Dodd of Bonners Ferry, Ronald and Wade Dodd, both of Florida, and Kimberly Dodd and Klyde Dodd, both of Green River; three sisters, Jacquline Moss of Texas, Maxine Kenney of California, and Patsy Ames of Bellevue, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Dannielle Pineda Wanamaker, Ind.
Service for Dannielle E. Pineda, age 6, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pinehurst, Idaho. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.
Dannielle died Nov. 7 from cancer. Her parents and grandparents previously lived in the Silver Valley.
She was born in Walnut Creek, Calif., and later moved to Indiana. She attended Wanamaker Elementary School.
Survivors include her mother, Katrina Ogden of Indiana; her father, Michael Pineda of California; a sister, Hanna Hugus of Indiana; grandparents, Jim and Nancy Ogden of Indianapolis, Ind., and Judi Fowler and John Pineda, both of California; and great-grandparents, Glen and Arilla Ogden of Wardner, Idaho.
Agnes Buell Calder, Idaho
Service for Agnes A. Buell, 67, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at YatesHodge Funeral Home in St. Maries. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries.
Mrs. Buell, who was born in St. Maries, died Sunday.
She graduated in 1951 from St. Maries High School, and married Robert Buell that same year.
The couple lived in Calder. She had worked as a secretary and receptionist at the St. Joe Valley Clinic and at Benewah Community Hospital.
She was divorced in 1969 and continued to live in Calder and work for the clinic and hospital until she became employed by Spokane-St. Maries Auto Freight in the early 1980s. She also worked in local real estate. Mrs. Buell also worked as a cook for Valley Vista Care Center.
She was a member of St. Maries Community Presbyterian Church and the St. Maries Eagles Auxiliary.
She enjoyed singing and needlepoint.
Survivors include a son, Val Joe Buell, and a daughter, Vanessa Edwards, both of St. Maries; two sisters, June Holstein and Evelyn Thorhaug, both of St. Maries; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Beatrice Shupp Sandpoint
Vigil service with rosary prayers for Beatrice Helen Shupp, 85, will be at 7 p.m. today at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Burial Mass is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Sandpoint. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint.
Born in Hawthorne, Calif., Mrs. Shupp died Friday.
She graduated from high school in Hawthorne.
She later married Carl Shupp. They lived in Ingelwood, Calif., and Whittier, Calif. for many years.
Mrs. Shupp was a hospital volunteer and was active in the Los Angeles Mexican Chamber of Commerce.
She moved to Mountain View, Calif., in 1992 and to Sandpoint in 1997.
Her husband died in 1992.
Mrs. Shupp was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Dan Shupp of Sandpoint; three grandsons, Will, Joe and Andrew; and a god-daughter, Marie Teresa Ramirez of Guadalajara, Mexico.
