Emergency Workers Practice At Fairgrounds

Dozens of firefighters, paramedics and emergency workers responded to a standard training drill at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds on Thursday afternoon.

The drill called out firefighters and volunteers from Hayden Lake, Coeur d’Alene, Kootenai County, Rathdrum, Post Falls and Athol.

Around 2 p.m., county dispatchers called for units to respond to a fire at the fairgrounds. Dispatchers reported that 30 people had been injured.

Kootenai County Emergency Services staged the drill.
