Colfax Advances
Andy Gylling has been the go-to guy for Colfax all season.
He was on again Saturday.
But this time Derek McClintock stepped out of the shadow and cast one of his own in leading the fifth-ranked Bulldogs to a 28-6 win over No. 10 Cle Elum in the State 2A football quarterfinals at Clausen Field.
Colfax (11-0) will play No. 2 Royal City (11-0) next weekend in the semifinals.
Cle Elum (9-2) took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter before the Bulldogs stormed to a 21-7 lead at halftime.
McClintock scored twice, on runs of 14 and 10 yards, on his way to a 122-yard day.
Gylling, who had 106 yards, capped the outburst with a 4-yard run. A 5-yard run by Damen King capped the scoring in the third.
The site and time for the semifinal will be determined by Monday.
