The best youngsters on the grounds will chase Vince Gibson’s powerful Danzilation in the $10,000 Juvenile Stakes, tonight’s seventh-race feature at Playfair.

On the undercard, two maiden claiming events for bottom dwellers stretch the imagination.

It’s hard to imagine, for example, how a 4-year-old who’s oh-for-37 lifetime can be a 5-2 morning-line favorite, but there she is in the fifth.

Goal Maker.

John Van Loon’s filly has reeled off five straight in-the-money finishes. She’s beaten five who’re entered in this $2,500 claiming event for non-winners.

So why not unload the wallet? How can she lose?

Well, she may be too polite to win. It’s your turn. You go ahead. I insist. You first. I don’t mind.

She does just enough to lose with class.

I’d suggest a career change. Team roping maybe. The Clydesdales have already been outfitted for sleigh bells so those endless Budweiser holiday TV spots are out.

Figuring out who can beat her ain’t easy in this heat but trust me.

Somebody will.

The challenge of the second is to find somebody - anybody - who has ever run by another horse. Most of these break out of the gate, fall into line and run well enough to stay put.

Jay Healy’s Seriousness seems to have heart, but very little speed. If the race were a debate, Healy would win going away. He’s very loquacious. He’s also 0-13.

So be careful out there.

As for the feature, I’m betting the well-traveled three-time winner Danzilation will prove too much for the most promising 2-year-olds on the grounds.
