Myrtle Doty Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Myrtle Doty, 72, will be at 2 p.m. today at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Born in Kellogg, Mrs. Doty died Thursday.

She grew up in Kellogg as the sixth of seven children. She cleaned airplanes at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane during World War II.

In 1948 she married Claude Doty. They lived in the Silver Valley, where she worked as a telephone operator and was a homemaker and oil-paint artist.

She was a member of the Pinehurst/ Kingston Lions Club, enjoyed square dancing, and liked to knit, sew, crochet and cook.

Her husband died in 1989. She moved to Life Care Center in Coeur d’Alene four years ago.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Doty of Bellevue, Wash., and Ray Doty of Spokane; two sisters, Correne Slater of California and Lois Steirwalt of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Darrell Hansen West Plains, Mo.

Private memorial service will be held for Darrell Eugene Hansen, 75. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hansen, who was born in Nashwauk, Minn., died Thursday in a car accident near Osburn, Idaho.

He served with the Navy during World War II and moved to North Idaho in 1958. He worked as a union pipe fitter with local 44.

He moved to Missouri in 1984 and married Mary Ann Robinson in 1985.

Mr. Hansen enjoyed hunting and cooking.

Survivors include his wife; eight children, Rosemary Ayers of Corvallis, Ore., Derrick and Bart Hansen, both of Spirit Lake, Idaho, Kerwin Hansen of Santa, Idaho, Bret Hansen of Twin Lakes, Idaho, Suzanne Martin of Rathdrum, Idaho, Roxanne Cook of Spokane, and Steve Hansen of Issaquah, Wash.; two stepchildren, Jimmy Russell of Arkansas and Christal Ratliff of Missouri; his mother, Fiina Miller, and a brother, Greg Hansen, both of West Plains; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Eileen Moe Post Falls

Private memorial service for Eileen Rae Moe, 76, was Sunday at the family home in Post Falls.

Mrs. Moe, who was born in Viola, Idaho, died Friday.

In 1942 she married Edward Moe. She ran the post office in Bayview, Idaho, during the construction of Farragut Naval Base.

Mrs. Moe drove a coal delivery dump truck at Camp Adair in Oregon during World War II. She and her husband later settled in Post Falls. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping, hunting, cooking and gardening.

Survivors include her husband; five children, Marvin Moe of Libby, Mont., Sandy Wilkinson of Sandpoint, Dianne Hope of Seattle, Gary Moe of New Mexico and Karol Moe of Chilco, Idaho; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mary (Earney) Davis Spokane

Memorial service for Mary F. (Earney) Davis, 70, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Davis, who was born in Seattle died Saturday.

Her family moved to Spokane when she was a child.

She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1946.

In 1954 she married Homer Davis.

Mrs. Davis worked as a legal secretary for U.S. District Court under Judges Marshall Neil and Robert McNichols. She retired after 20 years.

She was a member of the Legal Secretaries of Spokane.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary and Scott Davis; three daughters, Valerie Adkins, Liz McGaughy and Yvonne Davis; and 11 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions maybe made to Lutheran Social Services.

Emma Williams Kellogg

Private service for Emma Mae Williams, 74, will be held at a later date. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Williams, who was born in Carterville, Mo., died Wednesday.

In 1941 she married Johnnie Williams. They lived in Missouri until settling in the Silver Valley in 1949. A homemaker, she raised her three brothers.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Her husband died in 1986.

Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Williams of California, Cindie Sawyer of Kingston, Idaho, and Susan Goin of Spokane; a son, James Williams of Post Falls; two brothers, Andrew Hattery of Washington state, and Gibson Hattery of California; a sister, Claire Casale of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Osburn Veterans of Foreign Wars, or Greenwood Cemetery, in care of the city of Kellogg.

Dorothy Mizoguchi Spokane

Service for Dorothy S. Mizoguchi, 80, will be at 7 p.m. today at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 58-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Mizoguchi died Thursday. She was born in Gresham, Ore.

She married George Mizoguchi in 1944.

She worked as an information specialist at Deaconess Hospital for 30 years.

She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and was a member of the Indian Canyon Women’s Golf Club. Mrs. Mizoguchi served on the general board of the Global Ministries Women’s Division.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Dudley Mizoguchi of Spokane, Dwight Mizoguchi of Seattle and Duane Mizoguchi of Florida; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jimmie `Jim’ Leetch Smelterville, Idaho

Memorial service for Jimmie Lee “Jim” Leetch, 55, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Leetch, who was born in Sandpoint, died Saturday.

He graduated in 1964 from Wallace High School. He later served in the Army and then worked as a welder in the construction industry.

Mr. Leetch had lived most of his life in North Idaho but also worked as a welder at a power plant in Wheatland, Wyo. He also owned a mechanic shop, before he became disabled and returned to the Silver Valley.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and outdoor recreation.

Survivors include four children, Jim Leetch Jr., Jody Wickenhagen and Elizabeth Leetch, all of Kellogg, and Jason Leetch of Smelterville; two brothers, Earl Leetch of Post Falls and Bill Leetch of Osburn, Idaho; and seven grandchildren.

Alice (Smith) Anderson Spokane

Service for Alice Irene (Smith) Anderson, 81, will be at 11 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Anderson, a 77-year Spokane resident, died Wednesday. She was born in Kalispell, Mont.

She married Marvin Anderson in 1938.

Mrs. Anderson worked as a sales clerk for The Crescent department store.

She was a Free Methodist and a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. She was past president of the Missionary Society.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Georgia Payton of Spokane; two brothers, Arthur Smith of Spokane and Lester Smith of Stanwood, Wash.; a grandson and two great-grandchildren.
