Hunters Missing In Ruby Creek Area

From Staff

Members of the Bonner and Boundary county search and rescue teams spent Friday searching for two missing hunters north of Priest Lake.

Authorities still were searching for Jeffrey E. Gedeon, 34, and Eddie H. Easley, 30, Friday evening.

The two men from the Priest Lake area were reported missing about 6 a.m., according to Bonner County dispatch logs.

Boundary County was notified at 7:25 a.m., after it was discovered that the hunters apparently were lost on the Boundary County side of the county line.

The hunters were supposed to return Thursday night, according to the Boundary County Sheriff’s Department.

The men’s pickup was found on U.S. Forest Service Road 2767, in the Ruby Creek area. Searchers were looking for the men at and around a warming hut in the vicinity, according to Boundary County officials. Some roads were accessible only by four-wheelers.
