Alice Christianson Spokane
No service will be held for Alice H. Christianson, 93. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Christianson, who was born in Chicago died Sept. 21.
She graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago and became a registered nurse.
In 1936 she married Oscar Christianson and they moved to Spokane in 1945. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Christianson served as president of several guilds and auxiliaries for St. Luke’s Hospital.
She was past president of the Spokane County Medical Society Women’s Auxiliary and vice president of the Washington State Medical Auxiliary.
Mrs. Christianson was a charter member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and a member of Ladies’ Oriental Shrine and Women of Rotary. She was involved in the fund-raising for the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Christianson of Friday Harbor, Wash.; and a daughter, Karen Kratter of Bellevue, Wash.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
Richard Graham Othello, Wash.
No service will be held for Richard Earl Graham, 75. Stevens Funeral Chapel in Othello is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Graham, who was born in Peck, Idaho, died Friday.
He married Opal Pedrson in 1947 and worked as a truck driver for farmers.
Mr. Graham and his wife moved to Othello 22 years ago from Spokane.
Mr. Graham is survived by his wife.
Frank Kovalon Spokane
Private burial for Frank Kovalon, 87, will be held at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kovalon, who was born in Shenandoah, Pa., died Thursday.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Kovalon worked as an iron worker.
He and his wife, Marge, moved to Spokane 10 years ago from California; she died in 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Celeste Stoddard of Palm Desert, Calif.; three grandsons and one great-grandson.
Eugene Holter Metaline Falls, Wash.
Memorial service for Eugene D. “Gene” Holter, 70, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Selkirk High School in Metaline Falls. Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
A 47-year Metaline Falls resident, Mr. Holter died Wednesday. He was born in Colville.
He served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952, and worked as an iron worker at Box Canyon Dam for 28 years. He later worked for Seattle City Light Co. at the Boundary Dam for 10 years.
He was a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Marieta; a daughter, Debby Henderson of Nine Mile Falls; two sons, Randy and Bear Holter, both of Metaline Falls; two brothers, Vern Holter of Rice, Wash., and Dwaine Foster of Sumner, Wash.; four sisters, Paula Holter-Mehran of Kettle Falls, Wash., Charlotte Gibson of Sumner, Lois Clark of Pateros, Wash., and Michelle Cullison of North Carolina; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Gale Wuesthoff Spokane
Memorial service for Gale Wuesthoff, 60, will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 15 at the American Legion Hall in Chewelah, Wash. Spokane Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements.
A 21-year Spokane resident, Mr. Wuesthoff died Tuesday. He was born in Yakima.
He graduated from Jenkins High School in Chewelah in 1958, and served in the Navy as a radio operator from 1958 to 1978.
He later worked as an automobile mechanic.
Mr. Wuesthoff was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 1474 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 45.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Dolores; and a sister, Norma Lindsey of Lynnwood, Wash.
Norma Borden Spokane
Graveside service for Norma Lea Borden, 70, was held Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Borden died Thursday.
She worked as a billing clerk for a local music store.
Mrs. Borden was a member of the Delta Gamma Alumni Association and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Survivors include two sons, Terry and Randy Borden; a sister, Dorothy Johnson; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Andrew Johnson Kennewick
Service for Andrew Ray Johnson, 36, was held Friday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Kennewick. Burial followed at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick. Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland was in charge of arrangements.
Born in Spokane, Mr. Johnson died Tuesday.
He graduated from Othello (Wash.) High School in 1982 and from Eastern Washington University in 1986.
Mr. Johnson moved to Kennewick four years ago.
He had worked as a field supervisor for Lamb Weston.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Mary and Coraima at home; his parents, Cecil and Margaret Johnson of Othello; and a sister, Amy Hutchison of Port Orchard, Wash.
Marguerite Perin Spokane
Service for Marguerite N. Perin, 92, will be at 10 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
A 59-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Perin died Wednesday. She was born in Payette, Idaho.
She was a homemaker and a member of Spokane Valley United Methodist Church. She was past president of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Her husband, Ira, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Forbes of Otis Orchards and Aileen Kingrey of Spokane; a son, Leslie Perin, and a sister, Mildred Knerr, both of Spokane; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Wetzel Spokane
Graveside service for Mary A. Wetzel, 96, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wetzel, who was born in Colfax, Wash., died Thursday.
She graduated from high school in Colfax in 1922 and married Frank Wetzel in 1925.
The couple moved to St. Maries in 1934, and she was a homemaker.
Her husband died in 1983, and she moved to Spokane in 1985.
Mrs. Wetzel enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and outdoor recreation. She also played the piano.
She was a member of the St. Maries Grandmother’s Club.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Wetzel of Hayden, Idaho, and Louis Wetzel of Camarillo, Calif.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
