Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: I have a picture frame with eight double pieces of glass that revolve on a center post.

I put different colors of construction paper in each one and posted a favorite recipe on each side.

They are right at hand, protected, and I can change them when I want. - Phyllis Shadrick, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Dear Heloise: For garments needing pretreatment before laundering, I have family members tie them in a loose knot before tossing them into the hamper.

If the spot is on the sleeve, they tie the knot in the sleeve. This also applies to garments that need mending or a button. - N. Christensen, Baltimore

This is a good way to make sure spots are pretreated before washing. Remember, though, that the sooner the spot is treated, the better the results you can expect. - Heloise
