Passenger Count Down At Airport

Spokane International Airport handled about 3.5 percent fewer passengers during August than in August 1999.

Airport totals show 151,519 passengers traveled to and from Spokane, down from 157,227 in August 1999.

For the first eight months of 2000, the airport had 300,805 commercial passengers. That’s down about 3 percent from the same period a year earlier.

August’s cargo total was 5,372 tons, a 1.3 decrease from the same month in 1999. For the year, total cargo is up 12.9 percent from the same period in 1999.
