Thomas Dillon Spokane
Service for Thomas P. Dillon, 86, will be at 1 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Dillon died Tuesday.
He worked for the Post Office in maintenance for 15 years.
Mr. Dillon was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and the Eagles Lodge.
His wife, Helen, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Patti Fennen of Spokane; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Helen (Schmidt) Bright Spokane
Visitation for Helen G. (Schmidt) Bright, 91, will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Graveside service is planned for noon Saturday at the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Rosalia, Wash. Memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at Rosalia United Methodist Church.
Born in Plaza, Wash., Mrs. Bright died Monday.
She graduated from Rosalia High School and Deaconess School of Nursing.
Mrs. Bright worked as a registered nurse for 11 years in the newborn nursery at Deaconess Hospital. She was later a private duty nurse.
She was a member of the Deaconess Hospital Alumni and Manito United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Thurman Powell in 1973, and Dexter Bright in 1993.
Survivors include a son, Jim Powell of Greenacres; a stepson, Dexter Bright of Spokane; a sister, Maybelle Hilmer of Vancouver, Wash.; two grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Greta Apitz Spokane
Private graveside service for Greta V. Apitz, 91, will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Springhill, Nova Scotia, Mrs. Apitz died Monday.
Her family moved to Spokane when she was a child. She graduated from Hillyard High School.
In 1930 she married Albert Apitz.
Mrs. Apitz worked in food service for School District 81. She retired in 1974.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Ivanhoe Chapter No. 80.
Her husband died in 1992.
Mrs. Apitz is survived by a son, Lloyd Apitz of Spokane; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Marjorie (Glau) Bailey Colville, Wash.
Private burial for Marjorie M. (Glau) Bailey, 92, will be at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville. Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. Bailey died Monday.
In 1925 she graduated from high school in East Leroy, Mich. In 1927 she married Thomas Bailey.
Mrs. Bailey worked as a secretary for the Michigan Bell Telephone Co. in Battlecreek for 31 years. She retired in 1972.
She and her husband moved to Colville in 1987.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Moose Lodge in Michigan.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Marlene Arnold of Gifford, Wash.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lloyd Aff Spokane
Memorial service for Lloyd G. Aff, 82, will be at 1 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home.
A 53-year Spokane resident, Mr. Aff died Saturday. He was born in Affton, Mo.
He served in the Navy for two tours aboard the USS California in the early 1940s.
Between his tours he worked at the AmerTorp War Plant in St. Louis.
Mr. Aff worked as a maintenance superintendent for Inland Empire Paper Co. for 34 years and retired in 1982.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Susan McVay of Seattle and Joan Buth of Lincoln City, Ore.; a son, Bud Hunt of Spokane; a brother, Roy Aff of Warsaw, Mo.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Jeanne (Schneider) Skavland Kennewick
Graveside service for former Spokane resident Jeanne W. (Schneider) Skavland, 98, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane. Mueller’s TriCities Funeral Home in Kennewick is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Skavland, who was born in Canada, died Monday.
She married Ole Skavland in Glasgow, Mont., at the age of 18.
Mrs. Skavland and her husband owned and operated hotels and apartment complexes.
She lived in Spokane for 50 years before moving to Auburn, Wash., in 1993 and then to Kennewick in 1997.
Mrs. Skavland was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter No. 32. She was past president of the Order of Eastern Star, Ivanhoe Chapter No. 80.
Her husband died in the late 1980s.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Robert, Rusty and Candy Skavland, all of Alaska; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Elvin `Al’ Gosselin Onaway, Idaho
Service for D. Elvin “Al” Gosselin, 93, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash. Burial will follow at the Potlatch (Idaho) City Cemetery.
Mr. Gosselin, who was born on the family farm in Forest City, Iowa, died Sunday.
His family moved to a farm near Drexel, Mo., in 1920. They sold the farm in 1926 and moved to Potlatch.
In June of 1926 he began working for Potlatch Forests, Inc., at the Potlatch mill in the box factory. He had worked as the planer, saw-filer, operated the gang saw and drove the straddle bug loading lumber. He retired in 1972.
In 1928 he married Irene Smith. They later divorced.
Mr. Gosselin married Rubie Jacobsen in 1954. They lived in Potlatch until moving to Onaway in 1961.
He was a member of the Potlatch Senior Citizens, the International Woodworkers of American and the Potlatch White Pine Club.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, David Gosselin of Spokane, Tod Gosselin of Moscow, and Ramon Gosselin of Paso Robles, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Julie Denison of Potlatch; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lucille (Meukel) Monroe Spokane
No service will be held for Lucille L. (Meukel) Monroe at her request. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Monroe, who was born in Spirit Lake, Idaho, died Saturday. She was 80. She moved to the Spokane area in 1940 and in 1943 married Warren Monroe.
Mrs. Monroe worked as a cook.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Bower of Colbert and Sharon Acker of Carson, Wash.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Charles Beach Spokane
Service for Charles Maxwell Beach, 89, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 37-year Spokane resident, Mr. Beach died Tuesday. He was born in Fruitvale, Calif.
He graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
In 1939 he married Evelyn Schmidt. She died in 1968.
Mr. Beach served in the Army Signal Corps from 1941 to 1946. He retired as a lieutenant colonel.
He worked as a district engineer for US West in Tacoma, Seattle and Spokane from 1946 to 1974.
In 1970 he married Mary Hager.
Mr. Beach was a member and past president of the Telephone Pioneers of American, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Retired Officers Association and St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
He was a volunteer with the infant hearing assessment program at Deaconess Hospital.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carolyn Calhoun of Federal Way, Wash., and Jo Ellen Reynolds of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Albert Hager of Spokane and Chuck Beach Jr. of Fall City, Wash.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kyle Worth Hayden Lake, Idaho
Viewing for Kyle Charles Worth, 77, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and from 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Worth, who was born in Walla Walla, died Wednesday.
He grew up in Walla Walla and later moved to Lewiston and then to Hayden Lake. He worked as a building contractor throughout the Pacific Northwest until his retirement.
Mr. Worth was involved with many building projects for the federal government in Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
He was a 25-year resident of the Hayden Lake area and enjoyed fishing, writing and woodworking.
His wife, Rosemary, died in 1995.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Spainhower of Spokane and Sharon Woodford of Clarkston, Wash.; a stepson, Scott Cameron of Spokane; a brother, John Worth of Rice, Wash.; two sisters, Frances of Walla Walla, and Helen of Issaquah, Wash.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Nancy (Chipman) Boge Spokane
Service for Nancy L. (Chipman) Boge, 71, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Plymouth Congregational Church. Graveside service will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Boge died Tuesday.
She graduated from Central Valley High School. She received a degree from Washington State College in home economics and an accounting degree from Kinman Business College.
In 1952 she married Richard Boge.
Mrs. Boge was a homemaker and participated in the family business, Boge Brothers Baking Co.
She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, Daughters of the Nile, the Spokane Symphony Association, the Washington State University Foundation Trustee, Spokane Jazz Society and Spokane College Women’s Association. She was a founding member of Plymouth Congregational Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael and Thomas Boge, and a daughter, Katherine Fair, all of Spokane; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Symphony Association.
Jo Lindsey Cataldo, Idaho
Private service for Jessie Jo Lindsey, 52, will be held at a later date. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lindsey, who was born in Wallace, died Wednesday.
In 1967 she graduated from Kellogg High School. She then worked as a dental assistant for several years in both Rose Lake, Idaho, and Spokane.
She married Herb Lindsey in 1969. They moved to the Philippines where her husband was stationed with in the Air Force.
They later traveled throughout the Northwest. They divorced in 1989 and Mrs. Lindsey returned to the Silver Valley to care for her father and to raise her family.
Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed camping, fishing, gold panning and outdoor recreation.
Survivors include a special friend, Haden Chevalier of Cataldo; two sons, Steven Lindsey of Portland and Joshua Lindsey of Elk City, Idaho; a daughter, Holly Kay Lindsey of Pinehurst, Idaho; three stepsons, Todd, Dan and Herb Lindsey Jr., all of Clovis, N.M.; two sisters, Karen Turley of Avery, Idaho, and Sharon Burke of Coeur d’Alene; and 10 grandchildren.

Patricia Braden Moses Lake
Memorial service for Patricia C. “Trish” Braden, 29, was Wednesday at the family home.
Miss Braden, who was born in Kimball, N.D., died Monday after a 2-year battle with breast cancer.
Her family moved to Spokane when she was a child.
She graduated from Spokane Community College.
Miss Braden lived in Eastern Washington and moved to Moses Lake in May.
Survivors include her companion, Tammy Nelsch of Moses Lake; her mother, Patricia Braden of Moses Lake; her stepmother, Terri McCardle of Dallas; five brothers, Lyle Zornes of Spokane, John Zornes of Colville, Wash., Rusty Swannack of Boise, Doug Zornes of Anchorage, Alaska, and Bob Zornes; and five sisters, Rose Rowe and Zebrina Galicia, both of Moses Lake, Coral Muscarella of Malibu, Calif., Connie Coker of Grape Vine, Texas, and Erica English of Shreveport, La.
