Wesley C. and Elfi Olsen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 3 with a surprise party at the community hall in Wayside, Wash.

Hosts for the event were their children: Monika Olsen, Concord, Calif.; and Sonja Olsen-Rey and Arnim Olsen, both of Spokane.

The couple were married Nov. 2, 1950, in Munich, Germany. They have two grandchildren.
