Election Letters Deadline

Time is running out for those who wish to express views about the upcoming election. Letters pertaining to ballot items will not be published after Nov. 5. To be considered for publication, such letters must be in our hands not later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Due to extremely heavy mail volume, a smaller than usual percentage of letters received will be published. To accommodate as many letter writers as possible, longer letters will be edited to present the gist of the writer’s comments. Concise letters, well below the 250-word maximum, have a better chance of publication.

We also recommend submitting letters via e-mail, the fastest delivery method. Our address:

Letters on less frequently discussed ballot issues are particularly welcome, although we do appreciate all who take the time to write. We regret that answers to queries regarding letter status will not be possible.
