When it comes to field burning, my wife and I debate whether the sky is half visible or half obscured. Driving across the Rathdrum Prairie on Highway 41 on Thursday, my wife sniffed indignantly: “Look at the haze from all the forest fires. And they want to begin burning fields again?” Meanwhile, this Potatohead enjoyed the wide-open view offered by fields of mint, alfalfa and dormant grass seed. Ten years from now, those fields will be sprouting houses. Then, most of us will realize what we lost.

Sweet Potatoes - to that guy in a bobtail truck who refused to let a motorist cut in a line of stalled traffic along an I-90 construction zone.
