Output Technology’S Ceo Sims Retires

From Staff

Louis Sims, chief executive officer of Output Technology for more than 15 years, has retired, the company said.

Sims, 57, is one of the investors who started the high-end printer manufacturer 18 years ago. He’s remained at the company nearly all that time, leaving briefly in 1991 to work elsewhere.

He will continue serving as a board member and consultant working on resolving technical problems.

The Spokane company’s former chief operating officer, Steven P. Benner, has been appointed CEO. He joined the company in 1995.

“Louis Sims has a knack for solving technical problems, even those outside his scope of formal training,” Benner said. “We need his skills applied to several critical areas,” he said, including pushing new products off the drawing board and into production more quickly.
