It takes a real cowboy to win the annual Wild Cow Ride at the Ferry County Fair. Well, maybe not. It seems former Republic boy Dr. Matthew Short and some of his city slicker doctor and lawyer pals teamed up to take the title this year. Short does have a bit of rodeo experience, and it is said his compatriots must be ringers or fast learners. The Wild Cow Ride is a highlight of the annual county fair.

Rogers will remain in jail until Sept. 28, when Baker will consider his appeal. He was originally charged with two felony counts of vehicular assault and a count of excessive DUI.
