Upcoming Stage Productions

In other theater productions opening this weekend:

“Fahrenheit 451”

A new Spokane theatrical troupe, High Impact Theatre, debuts with a one-night-only production of the sci-fi classic, “Fahrenheit 451,” Saturday at The Met.

This is the stage adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s story of a futuristic hell where knowledge is discouraged and books are burned. The title refers to the temperature at which books will burst into flame.

High Impact founder and director James Quinn, 23, said he is aiming for “traditionally nontheater crowds” and especially hopes to attract people between the ages of 16 and 26.

He said the production will use a number of high-tech elements, including filmed segments and projections and will have an original electronic score.

The cast includes Brad Picard, Tracy Biegenwald, Homer Mason, Pamela Stark and Ron Varela.

Curtain time is 8 p.m. Tickets are $5, available only at the door the night of the show.
