FUND-RAISING

The Inland Empire Chapter of Ducks Unlimited has scheduled its annual fund-raising banquet for waterfowl conservation on Oct. 12. The dinner, at the Rendezvous next to Bayou Brewing, will be followed by auction and drawings. Tickets are $50 each or $75 for couples.

Proceeds are used to improve wetlands locally as well and internationally to boost migratory waterfowl. Since its inception in 1937, DU has raised more than $1.2 billion to conserve more than 9 million acres of critical wildlife habitat in all 50 states, plus Canadian provinces and key areas of Mexico.

About $8.6 million has been spent in Washington.
