Moscow Puts Away Lake City

Perfect serving by Emily Bennett and Megan Guenthner highlighted Moscow’s 15-8, 17-15 win at Lake City in a Border League volleyball match on Wednesday night.

Bennett and Guenthner combined to serve 25 of 25 for the Bears (5-2, 2-0).

Bennett also had eight blocks, five kills and three aces.

Lake City (4-8, 1-2) served for the second-game win at 14-13 and 15-14.

Rachel Mogen led the Timberwolves with nine kills and five blocks.

Girls soccer

Emily Mues totaled three goals and two assists to guide Moscow (6-2, 1-1) to a 9-0 win over visiting Lakeland (1-7, 0-4) in a Border League match. All of Mues’ scoring came in the first 44 minutes.

Boys soccer

Moscow (4-1, 2-1) defeated Lakeland 4-1 in a North Idaho League match at Rathdrum. Rodrigo Mortiz scored for the Hawks (4-4, 1-4). No other details were reported.
