Improving Eastern Washington Surprises Big Sky Favorite Nau

Angie Hall’s 12 kills and 11 digs led Eastern Washington to a 3-0 win over visiting Northern Arizona in a Big Sky Conference volleyball match.

Robyn Sonju-Felder added 12 kills and six digs for the Eagles (4-5, 2-1), who swept their third consecutive match.

Chelsea Robb had nine digs and seven kills for the Lumberjacks (5-4). Northern Arizona was selected as the team to beat in a Big Sky preseason poll.

North Idaho College snapped a four-game losing streak Thursday by defeating Pima (Ariz.) 15-5, 15-4 at the Valley of the Sun volleyball tournament in Phoenix.

Jessica Janke had five kills and Lindsey Kline added six digs for the Cardinals (2-6).

Community Colleges of Spokane is also participating in the tournament.

Women’s soccer

Christina Anderson assisted on the first goal and scored the final one during Idaho’s 3-0 nonconference win over visiting Eastern Washington (3-6).

The Vandals (4-4) have outscored rivals 10-0 during three consecutive wins.
