Outreach in the park
Pines Baptist Church in the Valley will host “Reach Out at the Park” today from 2 to 6 p.m. in Riverfront Park. The event is designed to share the Gospel through music, drama and speakers.
The entertainment lineup includes areal bands and soloists, such as Paradigm Shift and the Crux Band. Speakers will include the Revs. Barry Foster and Steve DeKorte from Pines Baptist.
Refreshments will be served, and those attending can register to win a Sony Playstation.
The event is free, and all are welcome.
Drama planned in Coeur d’Alene
North County Chapel in Coeur d’Alene will present a performance of the original musical drama “Testimony” today. It begins at 7 p.m. at North Idaho College’s Schuler Auditorium.
The play is based on the story of the stoning death of Stephen, one of Jesus’ followers, and the conversion of Paul.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12 and can be purchased by calling the NIC box office at (208) 769-7780 or the church at (208) 773-7100.
New Episcopal bishop to be honored
Time is running out for people who want to buy tickets for the Oct. 21 dinner being held in honor of the Rev. Jim Waggoner, the new bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane. The dinner and reception are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at the WestCoast Ridpath Hotel. The cost is $25 per person. Tickets must be purchased before Oct. 1.
